Description

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) is a desktop and application as a service offering (DaaS) in Azure. AVD enables you to run a virtual desktop environment in the cloud at scale. It offers the capabilities to create a production-ready virtual desktop environment in Azure without any need to create any gateway or VPN services. The service scales for 1,000 virtual desktops and above to support enterprise needs in the cloud.

AVD would be the best solution for organizations looking for a remote work environment for their teams. You can bring your custom VM images to benefit and utilize the functionality at scale. When coupled with automation and scaling rules, AVD brings end-to-end functionality to serve your remote business needs in the cloud. The most demand for the AVD platform comes from software development, healthcare, financial services, and startups looking to set up a fully remote office in the cloud. It also couples with traditional Active Directory (AD) servers on-premises or in a remote data center to enable usage of both existing infrastructure while leveraging the capabilities of the cloud.

In this hands-on lab, you will understand the basics of the Azure Virtual Desktop offering and create the necessary resource in the Azure Portal.
