Hello and welcome to this learning path presented to you by Cloud Academy on Combining DevOps Tools at Scale using applications such as Jenkins, Sonarcube, Artifactory, Splunk, and Jira.

In this quick course, we'll review the learning path contents, intended audience, learning objectives, and prerequisites. Before we start, I will quickly introduce myself. My name is Jeremy Cook. This learning path consists of a blend of instructional course ware, together with several hands-on labs where you get to put into practice creating Jenkins CICD pipelines, involving technologies such as SonarQube, Artifactory, Jira, Splunk, Docker, and Gradle. With these labs, you'll be walked through the process of configuring complete Jenkins CICD pipelines to build robust enterprise-grade cloud ready applications at scale. Lastly, we'll provide you with an assessment exam which you can use to test your understanding of the subject matter.

The intended audience for this learning path includes: Anyone interested in learning how to use Jenkins CICD pipelines to build robust, enterprise grade cloud ready applications at scale.

By completing this learning path, you will: Understand the basic principles of build automation as implemented within Jenkins. Understand how to configure build pipelines to automate compiling, testing, and deploying your own enterprise software projects. You'll learn how to manage build artifacts and test results. You get to know how to scale out Jenkins using Master and Build Agent setups. You'll learn how to leverage Docker containers within a Jenkins pipeline to provide additional build isolation and flexibility. Next, you'll learn to use the newer, more modern pipeline centric BlueOcean user interface. You'll learn how to exploit and leverage third party build tools like Gradle, Maven, Yarn, Webpack, within a Jenkins pipeline. And finally, you'll be able to integrate and leverage third party applications like SonarQube, Artifactory, DockerHub, and Jira.

The following prerequisites will be both useful and helpful for this learning path: A basic understanding of CICD, or Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. A basic understanding of software development and the software development life cycle. And a basic understanding of version control and associated workflows.
