All virtual machine disks have a built-in backup system as part of the service level agreement with Azure, however, the settings for the virtual machines are not covered by this.
In this Lab, you will see how to backup and restore a virtual machine.
In this Lab exercise, you will:
Start with a pre-existing virtual network and a single virtual machine. Then, you will complete the below tasks.
- Create an Azure Recovery Service Vault
- Connect to the VM with RDP
- Install IIS on the lab VM with PowerShell
- Backup the VM
- Perform a restore of the VM
