Hello and welcome to the Ms-900 learning path!

My name is Lee Mucciarone and I’m a Microsoft 365 content creator for cloud academy.

This learning path is specifically designed to help you get your MS-900, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals certification

The MS-900 exam is a course focused on a core understanding of Microsoft 365 and its wide range of tools.

This learning path is built focusing around the Microsoft published objectives that will be tested during the exam.

It’s important to note that as software updates and improves Microsoft sometimes changes the objectives and skills tested for these courses so it’s important that you download the certification guide and follow along as we go through this learning path.

With that in mind, these objectives are current as of November 2021 and are the following;

Describe Cloud Concepts
Describe Core Microsoft 365 Services and Concepts
Explain Security, Compliance, Privacy, and Trust in Microsoft 365
And describe Microsoft 365 Pricing and Support

Now that we know what the MS-900 will test us on, let’s take a quick look at Microsoft 365 to give you a starting point for this learning path.

Microsoft 365 is built on 3 core components.

These components are

Office 365
Windows
And Enterprise Mobility and Security

Starting off with Office 365, chances are you are already familiar with it in some manner of speaking, be it Office 2016, 2019, or the Office 365 subscription model.

This includes the standard office suite with tools like Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Onenote as well as additional collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and Onedrive.

Microsoft 365 takes these productivity and collaboration tools and bundles it together with additional management, security, and administration tools in a similar subscription-based service model.

Microsoft 365 also provides licenses of Windows 11 for devices within your organization alongside its device and app management tools.

These tools include things like Intune and the Microsoft Endpoint Manager that you can use to ensure that all devices within your organizations are kept up to date with the latest security updates and apps all set by your business.

And last but certainly not least we have Enterprise, Mobility, and Security

Microsoft 365 provides additional security tools you can use to make sure that your data is kept safe and secure.

With tools like the Microsoft 365 Admin center and the security and compliance center, you can add security features like multi-factor authentication, conditional access, and sensitivity labels to validate identities and ensure that your data is only accessed by those with proper permissions.

Each of these components build on top of each other to provide the full Microsoft 365 suite and a strong understanding of each is needed for the MS-900 exam.
