Presenter: As families gathered around their televisions and radios to listen to John F. Kennedy's speech, they listened to one of the greatest vision statements of the last century.

John F. Kennedy: We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard. Because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills. Because that challenge is one that we're willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others too.

Presenter: This speech is best remembered for the line, 'We choose to go to the moon in this decade.' JFK was very deliberate with his choice of words here, to ensure he gained the support of the nation, and evoked a sense of urgency by putting a time frame on achieving this goal. JFK went on to describe the desired future state of the Apollo program. It is safe to say his vision paid off for NASA in Houston, when Apollo Eleven landed on the moon in 1969. Facilitating change in any organisation can be tricky, but just as JFK said on that day in 1962, you should always aim to make a compelling case for your program, to attract the necessary support and investment. This is not a concept of times gone by. Every day, we turn on the news and hear from the likes of politicians and business leaders about their planned successes. However, it's not just about the vision. Successful program management is one of the cornerstones of delivering on any planned change. The sooner you realize this, the sooner you will be able to drive the desired objectives to achieve positive outcomes, with tangible benefits.

I'll go into more detail on the live session in a moment, but for now, let's talk about the digital phase of your learning journey with us. The digital phase is made up of several learning paths. Each of these focuses on different aspects of MSP, from the founding principles, through to the themes, processes and more.

By the end of the digital phase, you'll have learnt all the theory you'll need to succeed in the MSP foundation exam. You can expect a mixture of articles, interviews with experts, quizzes and reflection exercises to help you learn everything you'll need to know. After the digital phase, you'll attend a live session. You may attend the live session in person, or virtually. But, regardless of how you attend, you can expect a similar experience. The goal of the live session is to give you a chance to work through activities with groups, and as an individual. And, to put everything you've learnt about in the digital phase into action. Your trainer will act as a facilitator of the live session. They'll be able to answer all your questions, and support you in preparation for your MSP Foundation exam. Great.
