Hello, and welcome to "Google Professional Cloud Developer Exam Preparation". This course will help you develop the knowledge and skills required to pass the Cloud Developer exam.

My name is Daniel Mease, and I am a trainer at Cloud Academy with over 20 years of software and web development experience.

The Professional Cloud Developer exam covers four main subject areas:

Designing highly scalable, available, and reliable cloud-native applications
Building and testing applications
Deploying applications
Integrating an application with Google Cloud services

This course has been designed to align closely with these published learning objectives. However, the information will not necessarily be presented in this exact order.

Now, in the first part of the course, you are going to learn about cloud fundamentals. We also will provide a general overview of Google Cloud Platform. And this will teach you how to translate any requirements into the appropriate compute, storage, or network components.

The next part will focus on covering GCP’s compute services. Here you will learn how to run your applications in the cloud. That includes deploying small code snippets to Cloud Functions, deploying full applications to Compute Engine, and deploying containers to Google Kubernetes Engine.

Next, you will learn about APIs. This part will show you how to share and manage access to your various compute resources.

Then we will focus on storage services. So here you will learn how to upload and host files using Cloud Storage. And we will also demonstrate how to organize and retrieve large amounts of data using different types of databases.

The following section will cover security. This will show you how to limit the access of certain users or services. And it will demonstrate how to securely build, test, and deploy your applications.

The next section is all about operations and maintenance. This includes resource optimization and identifying bottlenecks. It also covers testing and fixing bugs. And you will learn how to monitor and respond to any issues.

The last section acts as a final review. It includes a reading list of additional topics you need to be familiar with. This covers any last-minute changes as well as any minor subjects that did not fit in anywhere else. There also is a final coding challenge, as well as a practice exam. This practice exam does not include any questions from the real exam. But they are similar enough to give you an idea of what to expect.
